2021 Budget Deficit Shrunk by 40% Compared to Expectations

Saudi budget deficit fell by 40% in 2021, to SR85 billion against expectation to stood at SR141 billion at the end of the last year. On its revenues increased by 9% to SR930 billion, confirming the synergy of several indicators of the Saudi economy’s recovery.

These predictions based on the Saudi budget for the current Fiscal Year 2021, showing revenues at SR930 billion and expenditures at SR1.015 trillion, with a deficit of SR85 billion, down 40% from the budget deficit expected to be at 141 billion, in  a strong show  indicating economic recovery.

Actual revenues for the Fiscal Year 2021, on the other hand, climbed by 9% to SR930 billion, compared to the predicted revenues of SR849 billion, when the budget was announced last year.
